Team His Strength

Right after my first full marathon last year in March, the Lord clearly impressed on my heart to start a running club for christian women. I had heard that several gals from church were training for their first 5k and as I shared about my group, they we all excited to help me start it.

I very clearly remember running and praying about the group...praying about our name...praying about our verse and the Lord answered my prayers. Our name: Team His Strength...Our verse: Psalm 18:1-3: The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my strength in whom I will trust; my God is my rock, in whom I make my refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

These girls are an incredible blessing and I love each of them so much!!  Running requires a lot of strength and endurance....a strength that can only come for the Lord...an endurance that requires us to lean solely on God.

We have about 18 regular runners on our team. Watching everyone make goals and meet them has been such a privilege.  It has often time brought me to tears to watch them push harder and farther than they thought they could.  They often call me their 'fearless leader' and I giggle because it is them that lead me...hold me accountable...encourage me...

Ladies, I love you with all my heart and I am so thankful for the gift of our group...the gift of our fellowship...the gift of our strength in Him...the gift that we get to share this with each other...it truly is a priceless treasure!!

Yesterday a handful of us ran in the first-ever Tinkerbell 1/2 Marathon. It was a blast.  This was the first 1/2 for a few of the girls...talk about a fun first 1/2 :)  A few will be running the Surf City 1/2 next Sunday.

At the expo picking up our racing bibs
During the race, getting ready to run through the castle (the race started at 5:45am..acckk)
 All finished...FANTASTIC JOB GIRLS!!
NEXT STOP...
San Diego Marathon in June
4 of us will be running the full (the first full for 3 of them)
Several will be running the 1/2 (the first 1/2 for 2 of them)

Let the training begin...What an incredible group of ladies to be training with!
